Fall weather is starting to grace our days.  It's the perfect time to get outside and do some of the things that are going on around Summerville.  Below is a list of events, festivals, live music and feasts coming up in the next month.

Edisto Blackwater Boogie

October 11, 2pm to October 12, 10am
Givhans Ferry State Park

The 2019 Edisto Blackwater Boogie is the inaugural event in what will be an annual outdoor festival. Come out to Givhans Ferry State Park.  It's a fun weekend for outdoor activities, live music, camping, and more! Activities include canoeing, kayaking, guided tours, and musical performances by local musicians. Food and drink trucks will be on-site as well as artisan vendors. There will also be several fun activities for the kids!

October Third Thursday

October 17, 5:30 - 8:30pm
Hutchinson Square, downtown Summerville

With more than twenty dining and drinking establishments within walking distance of historic Hutchinson Square, you are likely to find the atmosphere you were searching for. Whether your preference is locally roasted coffee and a pastry, to micro brews and a burger, or imported wines and charcuterie, to soda fountain specialties and a hot dog, or prime rib or homemade pasta, you can find it here.

Magnolia Harvest Festival

October 19 & 20, 1 - 5pm
Magnolia Plantation & Gardens

Enjoy the flavors, fun, and foliage of fall with a Halloween twist! Browse through the pumpkin patch and chose the perfect pumpkin to carve, enjoy candy apples, a bonfire, smores, apple cider, live musical performances, food trucks, a funhouse, costume contest and much more! Grab your costume and get ready for a lively Halloween filled evening!

Movies on the Village Green

November 9, 4:30 - 8pm
Carnes Crossroads, 513 Wodin Place, Summerville

Gather the family and bring your blankets and chairs to watch Mary Poppins Returns in the heart of our community. There will be food trucks and other vendors on site offering delicious options for dinner and snacks, along with lawn games and activities to enjoy before the movie begins. This is a free event with free parking.

Summerville Country Club Brunch

October 13, 10am - 2pm
Summerville Country Club, 400 Country Club Blvd,  Summerville

Brunch under the Candlelite Pavilion - Eggs Benedict, Cheese Eggs, Bacon, Sausage, Sausage Gravy, Biscuits, Shrimp & Grits, Chicken & Waffles, Pimento Cheese, Chicken Salad - Spring Mix with Dressing - Fruit - $22.50 per person

Summerville Trunk or Treat

October 18, 4:40 - 9pm
515 W Boundary St, Summerville

The Summerville Parks and Recreation Department, Police Department, Fire Department and Street Department will host the first Truck-or-Treat Halloween Bash and Movie event!  There will be a large variety of different vehicles, including police & fire emergency vehicles, tractors, construction vehicles and more, for kiddos to climb in and explore. Children should bring a bag for candy because all participating departments will be passing out candy. We will also have carnival games and other spooooky activities. This event is completely FREE!

Sounds on the Square - Nexton Square

October 18, 7 - 9pm
801 Nexton Square Drive, Summerville

More fun in sun is headed to Nexton Square! We’re excited to welcome The Shana Blake Band to Summerville for a funky, fresh take on traditional blues. Hailing from Charlotte, the ensemble’s rich sound is tinged with hints of R&B, funk, reggae, southern rock, gospel, country, and jazz. Songs run the gamut from expressive ballads to danceable grooves. You’ll hear anything-but-ordinary originals, as well as covers of old favorites.

Summerville Italian Feast

October 20, 11am - 6pm
Hutchinson Square, downtown Summerville

This is the 7th Annual Summerville Italian Feast.  Don't miss delicious food and a fun time.

Reggae vs The Blues BBQ

November 2, 12:30 - 4pm
Hutchinson Square, downtown Summerville

Join Bummerville Amphitheater for this free event to help Summerville celebrate the diversity of our community. We will be featuring Blues Legend, Wanda Johnson.  All are welcome to enjoy music, food and family fun.

Charleston's Hot Air Balloon Festival and Victory Cup Polo Match

November 15-16
John's Island County Park, 2662 Mullet Hall Rd, Johns Island

Charleston's ONLY Hot Air Balloon Festival! Balloons. Polo. Fashion. Food. In its fourteenth year, this event isn’t just a polo match it’s a networking and social destination drawing thousands for each event. With events throughout the United States, The Victory Cup has become known as “America’s Polo Match!” Come on out and enjoy a gorgeous day of green grass, majestic horses, heart pounding polo, dozens of food and alcohol partners, and beautiful hot air balloons!
